This hotel was suitable place for exploring Brighton, liked it. Near to the downtown, 5 minutes on foot. We were in the single room with central heating and a writing table.
-
Lovely views, marvellous setting.
The staff was EXCELLENT and we enjoyed English breakfast.
-
Recommend to others. We loved our coffee with goodies at Leman Tea Room.
-
The location is good for Brighton bars and clubs. You get your own front door key, so can come and go as you please. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Make sure you have cash as well, as their card machine was broken and I didn't get to know about it until check out!
-
Budget option, very helpful owners. Good value for money at the price we paid. Yes, could do with some updating but the bed was clean, the room spotless and the location was very central.
-
Its close to the attractions and beach.
On arrival staff did not speak much english and didnt quite understand me I was offered a room that was already booked by me at a lower price. The room, was fairly clean, but not enough tea coffee etc, no towels in the room, the bed linen was very crumpled ,ill fitting and duvet's to small for single beds, curtains didnt fit window and windows were draughty. Beds were uncomfortable, the toilet was not fixed to the floor and the shower was damaged, minimum toiletries and tv did not work
-
perfect location a 2 min walk from the pier. but thats it im affraid
the hotel is very dated an it was not clean it looked like the floor had not been hooverd ! the breakfast was dreadful we could not eat any of it !! id only recommend this place if your a group of mates going out all not an your not bothered to where you lay your head for the night
-
very comfortable room. very friendly owner who made sure you are comfortable.the personal touch in hospitality.

The lady who runs the hotel is absolutely lovely, so friendly and willing to help (such as providing taxi numbers, keeping cases safe the next day whilst we went into Brighton) and for £30 each with a breakfast (which was very yummy!) for a night in such a great city it was a bargain. I would absolutely stay in Old Palace Hotel again. It was extremely central and we could see the Brighton Eye clearly from our window.
The hotel is quite small inside, there is not much space the triple room bathroom me and my friends rented or in the kitchen when you go for breakfast however this is just a minor detail and didn't impact on our enjoyment of our stay.
-
Stained carpet. Cracked toilet basin Cramped shower General down market appearance of the entire establishment Although we booked on line they wanted cash payment
-
Great location - just up road from the pier. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was good although it was served early -8:00 - 8:30.
I wasn't impressed that I had to pay cash as the card machine was not working. Breakfast was served too early. Poor reciption on the tv.

location
greeted by a male that was unclean and asked me for cash as soon as i walked in the door...the room was grubby the carpet stained,we were unabled to lock the main window due to the window furniture being broken and missing so had to carry our belongings around with us..breakfast was served by the same person who greeted me at the door...so just careal and toast to be safe and didnt go near it on the 2nd day...all in all was glad to get out of there...

The price was low. The location suited my needs. Free WiFi.
The description on the web site was misleading to say the least. The hotel was supposedly a 4* but was anything but. The blurb said that there was a view of the garden but there was no garden, just backs of buildings. The wooden window had no handle and there was only a nail to hold it closed. The carpet on the narrow stairs was not clean. There was a musty smell. The breakfast wasent up to much either.

The location was very good.
The en-suite although very clean, was very small no where to put anything and the towells were not very nice. The breakfast was ok but you had no choice either full english or nothing!! The dining room was too small to cater for the amount of guests, so if you were not on time for breakfast you had too wait, which would have been fine but there was no where to wait. When you entered the guest house it smelt very bad of smoke even though there was no smoking signs every where.

The beds were comfy; towels were changed even though we were only staying 2 nights. We and our friends had the only 2 en-suite rooms in the guest house.
Generally cramped guesthouse, with narrow stairs and no communal/reception area at all. Carpets tired and stained; no hair dryers in the rooms. Anything other than 'full English' breakfast seemed to pose a challenge, and they can't cope when the small breakfast room is full during the very small period of time when they serve it.
